- Detecting muscular knots, and applying pressure to them in order to soften them (painful)
- I did squats with the help of a ball on my back, that was burning my thighs.
- I did about 40 broad push-ups (it was not easy, specially once I started laughing, because I was so tire, and Andy was pushing me to finish it - it was fun though)
- We also worked on muscles on my femur.
- Lastly we did this crazy plank stands which works your abs really hard (if you were to be standing next to me, you would think is a joke, but believe me... it is a work out).
So after Andy was done with me, I headed to the Yoga room, but unfortunately the class was canceled by Equinox, but they created another class 1 hour later (instead of 8:30AM, 9:30-11:00), so I thought this was too late, and I decided to do some Yoga on my own, so I spent 1 hour warming up doing different Bikram standing poses, but around 9:10, our yogi teacher showed up, Michael Aronoff, and we started talking. It appears that the Equinox has cancelled his classes on Tuesday, and he has been substituted on Friday mornings by Adam Dobbs, who is also a very good yogi. The good news, is that Michael also has his own studio in Huntington, so one can head there to learn Ashtanga and meditation. I am thinking of giving it a try - his CV is impressive.
Well, then I decided to stay, giveth that this may be the last class with Michael at the equinox, it was truly a worked out, it always is, but after having done morning training, and some Bikram on my own, my muscles were really exhausted, though I was able to pull through, and I don't regret it - loved it to the end of class - that's another 1.5 hours of Yoga.
Then at night there was another class at 18:30-20:00, with a new instructor, Ashley Silver, whom I've never worked with (and I go to just about every morning, and evening class). She was very young, but strong, and a very good instructor, she helped me with my pigeon pose, by pushing back back further on the floor, then she also corrected my Shavasana (resting on the floor) by pulling my feet, flattening my shoulders, and pulling my neck to a better length - it really felt much better after the correction. The work out was very nice, and very intense at moments, which also incorporated some asanas from Bikram.
Today was a great workout day, I don't think I can pull many days like these, but today was really something.
Namaste.
